1K UNIVERSAL PRIMER WITH ZINC PHOSPHATES GREY RAL 7035

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
Mono-component primer formula based on modified polyvinylbutyrralyc binders, pigments and selected extenders, particularly suited for their anti-corrosive characteristics.
Its basic property, besides its anti-corrosive power and excellent coverage with low thicknesses, is that it can be painted really quickly, just 30′ after application.
Unlike the most common over-sprayable primers, it can be painted using all the main industrial varnishing systems: nitre, fast drying, acrylics, chlorinated rubber, polyurethane and epoxy.
It adheres perfectly to steel, iron, cast iron and aluminium. It also adheres to pickled galvanised plate after sanding or using other abrasive systems.

USE SECTORS
It can be used as an anti-corrosive primer to be coated with solvent-based or water-soluble finish, to protect farm machinery, building and earth-moving machines, machine tools, metal working and metal items in general. Thanks to its versatility we recommend using it as temporary protection for those items or semi-finished products where the final varnishing cycle still has to be decided.

HOW TO USE
Dilution recommended: 50 – 60% with diluent B305/1
Application viscosity: 18 – 20” Ford 4 ( sprayed )
Thicknesses recommended: 30 – 40  dry
Theoretical yield (thickness 40 ) : 6.8 m2 / Kg
Theoretical consumption (thickness 40 ) : 150 g / m2

DRYING
In air , at 20°C and 50% U.R.
Off dust: 20 – 30 minutes
Can be handled: 60 – 90 minutes
Hard in depth: 5 – 6 minutes
Re-paintable: from 30 – 40 minutes

ADVICE FOR APPLICATION
To varnish using epoxy systems, we recommend applying primer that is not thick (30 μ d.f.t.) and with low dilution finish.
Carefully clean and degrease the support to eliminate any calamine or rust with mechanical pre-treatment, phospho-degreasing, sanding, brushing etc.
Products must be applied in environmental temperature and humidity conditions that do not compromise the end result; so must not be applied with temperatures under 10°C and relative humidity over 80%.
